Camping!!

Two weekends ago we went camping with some friends from church. We had a great time and were in a beautiful place! We were 1 1/2 hours off the main road up in the flat tops of the mountains. I had never seen this part of Colorado before with meadows and hills..I'm used to flat and dry or mountains.
Here is our friend Adam being weird and trying to protect himself from the millions of flies!! It was awful!

Jim and I at the "Little Grand Canyon"
Adam and Jenni at Heart Lake...so beautiful!

The guys shot guns most of the time..such hicks!

Jim taking a nap...that's what camping is all about..relaxing and eating!

Bugging Jim

Well, I thought I'd share a non-house picture today! Jim is back in school now after finishing his 2nd clinical, which he worked downtown at the hospital with pediatric physical therapy. It's always nice when he is in clinicals because he doesn't have homework every night, but it's less than a year now that he has left, so that is so exciting!!! He's been going to school now straight through since he started K5!! Of course he had summers off then, but now he doesn't. He won't know what to do once he's done.
Here I am bugging him while he is trying to get work done on the computer. Who doesn't need a break every few minutes?=)

cont...

Not only did we get a new fence this past weekend, but we also got a new garage door!!! I never thought I would be soo excited about getting a new garage door, but things change when it's your own place, don't they? Our old one didn't work very well and had this weird brown/cream paneling thing...not the prettiest one on the block! So, home depot put the new one in on Monday!! Then, the wood above the garage door was falling apart and needed painting so it would match the garage door. So, I painted it and we both put it up on Tuesday! We love it!

Jim is tearing the old wood down. If you make that picture larger, Jim kind of looks cross eyed or something...funny, I think! He kept dropping the nails and made me run all around picking them up off the driveway so we wouldn't get a flat tire later on. I think he enjoyed that.

And here is our new garage door!!! So exciting for all of you reading, I know!

And just so you know, we did go for a bikeride in the morning and then went to a cookout and saw fireworks in the evening, so we do have a life besides working on our house=) Hope you all had a Happy 4th of July!!

4th of July Weekend!

It was so nice having a long holiday weekend even though we worked pretty hard most of the time. On Saturday we took down part of our old fence on the side of our house and started putting up the new one. Jim had a friend helping him, so I mostly watched and did yard work. But, Sunday afternoon Jim and I finished it together. I was the hammer girl, and thankfully I did not hit any fingers! Jim finally finished the gate for the fence on Tuesday, and it looks a million times better than what we had. The one before was so old and the gate was propped up against the fence. Very safe! So, now all we have to do is stain it, and it will be done! I'm pretty proud of us that we did it all by ourselves..sure there are a few uneven spots, but noone will notice..right?

This is the back of the old fence. And yes, that is our old Christmas tree lying in the backyard. Don't ask...

Here is the new one!!
