Last one for today...i think

Nice touch with the treadmill there, huh?=)

We got these up a few weeks ago, but I'm just now posting them. Aren't they beautiful?!! My mom and grandmom helped me design them and pick out the fabric while they were here. I think they make the room look complete now. Everyone always asks if I made them=) If they only knew the family I came from and how hard it is to even sew a button, they wouldn't ask!

Memorial Day weekend

Who's handsome husband is that?!

There was still some snow on the ground, but that made it even more challenging trying not to wipe out in front of all the other hikers=)

The Stanley Hotel: the guy that invented the steam engine lived here

We are about 13,000 ft up here! It was so cold! I jumped out of the car, took the picture and got back in. I think Jim wanted me to enjoy the scenery more=)

I took off work on Friday so I could have a 4 day weekend with Jim! It was great, but very busy! We worked on the house non-stop on Friday and Saturday, trying to get everything done before our friend Tyararr comes tomorrow!!
But since it was a holiday weekend, we wanted to do some fun stuff too. So, Sunday morning we got up and drove 1 1/2 hrs to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. It was beautiful hiking there! There was still some snow around and there are elk walking around everywhere! It's crazy! That night we stayed at this very old historic hotel! It was a fun relaxing get-away!

For some reason I can't post any more pictures right now, so I'll post more of our house in the next one!

White Trash Moment

On Monday, Jim and I officially reached white trash status! We had to take out our toilet to put in a new bathroom floor, so we thought the best way to clean it before taking it back inside was to hose it down. And that's what we did! The best part was that our neighbors were having a picnic and all stopped to look at him and the toilet! I was laughing so hard, but noone said anything..which made it worse and even funnier! Jim said the one neighbor even lifted up his one kid so he could see=)
Later that night we went to a picnic and left our other toilet on our porch. Very classy!

Very Funny!

My good friend Jill showed me this link, and I thought it was so funny. I had to refrain from laughing too loud because I was at work, but hope you all enjoy it!

Weekend in the airport!

Jim and I had planned on going to Greenville, SC this past weekend for my sister's graduation. I was so excited to see friends and family that I hadn't seen in a long time! It was going to be a nice, fun, relaxing get away! That was the plan....
Our flight took off Friday afternoon, we arrived at the airport 6 minutes past the checking in time! Those six minutes would haunt us for the rest of the weekend. We decided to try the next flight flying standby, but we didn't get on. I was so upset! Like not just sad, but crying that I had missed this and that I wouldn't get to see everybody!! Jim was very sweet and quickly trying to figure out what to do=) We called my parents and told them we weren't coming, which I was crying the whole time while trying to tell them. After that, we decided to check if there were any other flights. A very nice lady at the counter got us on a flight to Dallas, where we would spend the night and fly out at 6 the next morning to get to Greenville around 9:30. We would miss the graduation, but at least we would be there when everyone got out for the fun part! So, we got to a hotel in Dallas around 10, ate something and tried to sleep for 4 hours. Oh, and we didn't have any luggage or toiletries, so we were at the hotel's mercy. So, let's just say we didn't look so good the next day=) We were excited to finally get on the plane on our way to SC. 30 minutes into our flight the captain comes on and says, " Due to some problems with the pressure, we will have to turn around and go back to Dallas!" Enter laughter, frustration, shock, etc! I couldn't believe this was happening!! Maybe we weren't supposed to go to Greenville! So, we landed, found out we couldn't get on the next flight, even though half our plane did, and therefore would have to fly to Charlotte and from there to Greenville, putting us in at 1:30 pm. So, we would end up being in the airplane and airports more than with my family=) Oh and to make the situation even funnier, one reason we were late in the first place, besides just our bad planning, was that we had stopped at Starbucks to get Can's fiancee Mike some gifts. So, the whole trip I had carried in a bag this very cool mug for him. Early Saturday morning, while checking out of the hotel, I placed the bag on the counter, turned my back and then heard a huge crash! The bag had fallen and the mug was in pieces! Jim yelled, the lady behind the counter screamed, and I just started laughing at yet another thing! So, Mike ended up getting a $5 gift card to Starbucks, he must have thought we were so cheap=)
So, there is our exciting weekend=) We did have a good time seeing everyone and for some odd reason it felt like we had been away for a week instead of 2 days! But, we are back home safely now. We took some nyquil last night, went to bed around 9:30 and woke up this morning ready to start a new week, just like we had had an ordinary weekend! Hope everyone had a great weekend too!

What a Day!

Don't you just love when your boss tells you to make reservations for a trip but only gives you half the details? And then, the next week gives you more, but now it's already too late to schedule what they want! And they don't understand why you can't make it happen a week before the huge conference! The trying times of a secretary=)
Anyways, this has been my day. Trying to coordinate 3 president's itineraries and make them happy! But I think I have it all figured out now....at least until tomorrow=)
At least I have American Idol to look forward to tonight! I will admit it, I love that show. Anyone else watch it? Who do you think will win? Well back to scheduling itineraries....
