Can anyone say...White Christmas?

The snow started early Wednesday morning, and didn't stop until we had 24 " in our yard! I was off work Wednesday through Friday, so I had an extra long Christmas holiday...it was wonderful! I've only been out in Colorado for a little over a year, but they say this is unusual...sure it is!
Jim and I went snowshoeing through our neighborhoods on Thursday and Friday!! So fun, and you usually can't do that because we don't get enough snow or it melts too quickly. Bauer loved the snow. It was very deep for him, but he just hopped and jumped along through it all.
Sorry the pictures aren't the best, I took them with my camera phone, because our camera is broken...bad timing! Anyways, here is our house. Next is our neighbors...I just thought it looked so funny with all the snow hanging off the roof. Ours was like that in the back...we couldn't see out our bedroom window because the snow was hanging so low. Last is Jim and Bauer playing King of the Mountain! Not really, but it was funny because after this, everytime we take Bauer for a walk, he has to run up that snow pile. We still have a lot of snow around our house, and guess what....we're supposed to get another big storm Thursday and Friday!!! My parents are flying in Friday, so I'm praying they don't have any problems. With this past storm, they shut the airport down for 2 days!
Well, hope you all had a very Merry Christmas! We had a beautiful White Christmas here in Colorado, but missed seeing many friends and family back in PA! Hope to see you all soon...Happy New Years!

Walking in a Winter Wonderland

I think this was from our 2nd snowfall a few weeks ago, but we woke up on a Saturday morning to this, so we had to go for a walk. Bauer loves the snow! This is a park right near our house, so we go there a lot.

No, this isn't a postcard, just some pretty sweet photography. That's me and Bauer walking.

Sappy, but cute! I couldn't resist!

Long Overdo...

Hi Everyone! I've been meaning to do this for some time, but life has just been crazy!! Anyways, Thanksgiving weekend, Jim, Bauer and I drove over an hour from our house to find the perfect Christmas tree. We had a great time, except that we weren't finding the perfect tree. I kept thinking that, like in the National Lampoon's Christmas vacation movie, I would walk into a field and there would be the perfect tree, with the sun shining down on it. Well, our tree had some sun shining down on it, but it's rather Charlie Brown looking. Oh well, we had fun! It's different from all the other trees I've ever had, and was so pricky that I had to wear gloves to put the ornaments on, but we love it now! We also wanted to get our Christmas picture while we were up there. So, it was kind of disapointing when we noticed there wasn't much snow, actually we found one of the only patches to take our picture on....it made it more Christmas like=) So, Jim set the camera up on a log, and then ran over, all the while trying to keep Bauer's attention on the camera. Which explains why I, the wife, am holding the tree and the dog, while Jim runs as fast as he can to make the picture.

Murder Mystery

Saturday night, Jim and I went to a Murder Mystery dinner at our friends Adam and Jeni Schlosser's house. The theme was a 70's high school reunion, so hence the 70's garb. Now, most of the other people there just were ordinary couples in the 70's, but Jim and I were a married couple that was in a rock band! So, that's why we look crazy! We named our band, Flaming Dragons, because we found this shirt for Jim at Goodwill that had a flaming dragon on it. So, we ripped off his sleeves and I wore the band around my head. We had so much fun getting our outfits all ready. We were having so much fun that we actually lost track of time and were late...but hey, aren't rockers supposed to be fashionably late?

Jim and I discussing who could be the murderer!

Jerry and Leah...she looked just like Yoko Ono

Adam and Jeni...Peace!

Jim looks a little too much like a rocker...he won best dressed and I won best actress...we were pretty proud of ourselves=)

Let it Snow...

This past Monday and Tuesday we got our first snow of the season! We woke up on Tuesday morning to a beautiful snowy day! I came home Monday night after work, and as Jim opened the door, I heard the Elf Christmas CD playing in our house...the first snowfall in October and he's already thinking Christmas! It's fun! Bauer wasn't sure about the snow at first, but then he loved it! He was running around like a wild man!

When I walked into our living room last night, this is how I found them...hmm...Is it hard to tell who's got who wrapped around his finger or paw?

Our Baby

I laugh because most of my friends on here put cute pictures up of their "babies", but since we don't have any kids yet, we love to show off our puppy. He's been so much fun and is a great dog!

We gave him his first bath last week and he was not very happy. Jim had to sit in the tub with him while I washed him. Poor guy...he looks so sad!

ok, now don't laugh, even though Jim and I laughed a lot last night watching Bauer try to get around the house without knocking over everything! Poor guy had a rough day yesterday and will have to wear the "lampshade" for 2 weeks!! It's quite funny watching him get stuck and not being able to walk up the steps because the lampshade is too big=)

He's an Angel....
Jim had to hold his bone for him because he couldn't get his paws around the lampshade to hold his bone...I think he's finally got the hang of it now.

IT"S A BOY!!!!

No, we are not having a baby, but we did welcome Bauer Wodicka into our home on Tuesday September 19, 2006 at just 14 weeks old. He is a labradoodle which is a lab and standard poodle mix, so yes he will be a big dog...have you seen his paws? They're huge! We are hoping that he won't shed as much since he is 1/2 poodle! But, as you can see he looks very much like a lab, except his hair has a little more wave to it. But, he is the sweetest dog and has only had a few accidents...we're still working on that! Oh, and for those of you who were wondering, yes, he is named after the mighty Jack Bauer from "24". How could we resist? I'm sure they'll be more pictures to come...

We had a great time and miss hanging out with them! David and Jim are hilarious together so they definitely kept us laughing!

1 Year Anniversary!!!

Well, this is a little late, but we were away over our anniversary and the week after, so I am finally getting back to updating this blog.
But, I just had to let everyone know that on August 12th, Jim and I celebrated our 1st anniversary!! Where did the time go? I can't believe we won't be newlyweds anymore! I love being married and have loved this past year! I am so thankful for my husband and can't wait to spend many more years with him! Here are some pictures from our wedding just alittle over a year ago! It
was such a fun day, and now I have so many memories from it!

Since we were away on vacation with my family over our anniversary, we are taking advantage of the long weekend coming up and are driving to Aspen to spend 2 nights there! Neither of us have been there, and we can't to spend the weekend together doing whatever we feel like! I'll try and get some vacation photos up soon!

Camping!!

Two weekends ago we went camping with some friends from church. We had a great time and were in a beautiful place! We were 1 1/2 hours off the main road up in the flat tops of the mountains. I had never seen this part of Colorado before with meadows and hills..I'm used to flat and dry or mountains.
Here is our friend Adam being weird and trying to protect himself from the millions of flies!! It was awful!

Jim and I at the "Little Grand Canyon"
Adam and Jenni at Heart Lake...so beautiful!

The guys shot guns most of the time..such hicks!

Bugging Jim

Well, I thought I'd share a non-house picture today! Jim is back in school now after finishing his 2nd clinical, which he worked downtown at the hospital with pediatric physical therapy. It's always nice when he is in clinicals because he doesn't have homework every night, but it's less than a year now that he has left, so that is so exciting!!! He's been going to school now straight through since he started K5!! Of course he had summers off then, but now he doesn't. He won't know what to do once he's done.
Here I am bugging him while he is trying to get work done on the computer. Who doesn't need a break every few minutes?=)

cont...

Not only did we get a new fence this past weekend, but we also got a new garage door!!! I never thought I would be soo excited about getting a new garage door, but things change when it's your own place, don't they? Our old one didn't work very well and had this weird brown/cream paneling thing...not the prettiest one on the block! So, home depot put the new one in on Monday!! Then, the wood above the garage door was falling apart and needed painting so it would match the garage door. So, I painted it and we both put it up on Tuesday! We love it!

The old wood above the garage
The old garage door

Jim is tearing the old wood down. If you make that picture larger, Jim kind of looks cross eyed or something...funny, I think! He kept dropping the nails and made me run all around picking them up off the driveway so we wouldn't get a flat tire later on. I think he enjoyed that.

And here is our new garage door!!! So exciting for all of you reading, I know!

And just so you know, we did go for a bikeride in the morning and then went to a cookout and saw fireworks in the evening, so we do have a life besides working on our house=) Hope you all had a Happy 4th of July!!

4th of July Weekend!

It was so nice having a long holiday weekend even though we worked pretty hard most of the time. On Saturday we took down part of our old fence on the side of our house and started putting up the new one. Jim had a friend helping him, so I mostly watched and did yard work. But, Sunday afternoon Jim and I finished it together. I was the hammer girl, and thankfully I did not hit any fingers! Jim finally finished the gate for the fence on Tuesday, and it looks a million times better than what we had. The one before was so old and the gate was propped up against the fence. Very safe! So, now all we have to do is stain it, and it will be done! I'm pretty proud of us that we did it all by ourselves..sure there are a few uneven spots, but noone will notice..right?

This is the back of the old fence. And yes, that is our old Christmas tree lying in the backyard. Don't ask...

Here is the new one!!
